It seems like basic functionality is missing, such as being able to copy text out of the app on my phone. I am using a Galaxy S8, so you would think that this would be easy to do. But when I select the text so that I can browse to a link, for example, I couldn’t copy the text. I had to uninstall the app and browse to TripAdvisor as a web page in order to copy the text. … if this is the only technical issue, then maybe they deserve four stars instead of the three I gave. I do like that other users post their experiences with various tips and critical reviews. This is a really good app for finding the best user-rated activities in an area, I use TripAdvisor all the time to scope out what activities are available.

While the info is helpful, it is obnoxious and harassing – a real pest in it’s constant never-ending objective of telling me what’s near me. I found it annoying, so in the settings menu, I turned off all notifications and all permissions. So what happens, they start sending me emails. Trip Advisor, go pound sand! I’m deleting the app. I’ll use something else less harassing.

My wife and I have used this app for years for conducting travel research, building daily itineraries, etc. Up until just recently, it was a 5 start app for us. We’re planning our next trip, and the app has drastically changed!! If we can still create daily itineraries, neither of can figure out how to do it. Based on other current reviews, this feature appears to no longer be available. Unbelievable! We’re already looking for another Travel app!!

They have implemented a travel feed that dominates the app with videos, pictures and articles from third party sites. Some may be helpful, others are from personal blogs and unknown individuals. I use the app because I like to get information from TripAdvisor, especially lists of top things to do or places to eat in a location, but that data is now hidden between large displays from other websites that they are porting in making it much less user friendly and much less useful. It feels more like a long scrolling list of ads than the powerful travel tool it once was.

Not feeling the new app. When you use to search for things to do, they would actually give you a list of things to do, very helpful! Now you get some weird “social media” page of pictures and videos people posted about that location. NOT HELPFUL! It’s like they’re trying to keep up with social media platforms like Instagram. If I want a social media page, I’d go to my IG account! Stick to your purpose! Helping people find helpful info on travel destinations.

This app used to be the best thing for world travel, now it appear to be a social media app… And, short of finding a paid ad for a restaurant in the city you want to travel to a really hard to navigate one at that. The best feature was that you could download some larger cities easily for offline access. If that’s still possible, someone will have to walk me through it. It really feels like you are better off with Yelp or Google trips for most of the world now.

I hate how you can’t sort by the distance for restaurants. they did at one time and they removed that. the sort feature has to be my biggest pet peeve on this app. The new app format sucks. it’s almost like they have 2 apps in one. if you have your GPS turned it gives you a different layout then if you didn’t have it turned on. It should have remained the same.

I have been using TripAdvisor for several years to plan trips in the United States and internationally. It has always been one of my top resources The recent update is a disappointment. Previously, you could organize activities within a trip by date. You can no longer do that and can no longer change the order of saved activities within a trip. This was a helpful tool when planning trip days chronologically. Please bring this feature back!

Update: This app had gone from bad to worse. Now it closes out before fully opening. The changes suck. The new social media feed is annoying, but I would tolerate it if I was still able to enter dates for trips and assign things to specific days. The main purpose is to create an itinerary, but you can’t do that because everything is entered as you add it and not assigned to a day. Bring this back.

This app has gone downhill. i used to use this site to find tour companies for different cities i visit. That is very difficult now. Instead of finding tour guides based on travelers ratings, when selecting “Tours” under “Things to Do”, you just get a list of tours they want you to book. I’m very, very disappointed in TripAdvisors recent changes.

This is an invaluable tool in our trip planning! We use it to find (and often book) our accommodations, to plan our itineraries, and to find great places to eat. Writing my own reviews is fun, too! The only thing I REALLY don’t like about the app is how it constantly resets my family size. I often think I’ve found a good hotel, only to realize it removed my teen sons and their ages AGAIN. When I make the adjustment, it’s no longer the good deal I thought it was, and I have to redo my search.

Has Gone Downhill over the last year. Used to be very eay to navigate and filter restaurants. Now there are very few options for filtering and sorting. Simply put, you can have better luck finding restaurants and attractions using the Google Maps app. It seems that they have changed their emohasis from being a review tool to becoming a travel booking tool. As a result I find myself using the app less and less.

I use to LOVE this app, we always had it open when traveling, but with every update it gets harder and harder to use. I spend more time trying to find places near me and every time I hit a wrong button I end up back at the home screen and have to start my search over, and I get different options trying to do the same search. It’s frustrating to use and I can no longer trust that it’s finding me all the places available.

I spend more time trying to find places near me and every time I hit a wrong button I end up back at the home screen and have to start my search over, and I get different options trying to do the same search. It’s frustrating to use and I can no longer trust that it’s finding me all the places available.

I have many reviews on this app, with many people reading them. I find some inaccuracies at time. restaurants and hotels must have more information like the year they were built, opened, remodelled, etc. many times I visit restaurants with good pictures, but the actual place would be dirty and old. same goes with hotels. age is pretty important, and condition is also very essential. this app does not reflect this issue.

I love TripAdvisor for reviews, finding restaurants and things to do in new cities, and booking tours. The app is easy to use and the overall quite good. However it can be glitchy lately with photos not loading on Android. I’m also really hoping they’ll bring back the ability to have multiple users add to shared trips (instead of only the creator now being able to add items and others just being able to view the list); my husband and I used that feature all the time and loved it!

This is one of the worst designed apps that I’ve ever used. It keeps crashing, it’s hard to navigate, it’s hard to turn off the hotel availability search, the trip feature keeps on getting worse, there are a lot of mistakes in the website links, adresses, phone numbers, etc. On the plus side, there is some useful data there if you know what to look for. The data gets 3 or 3.5 stars.

I’ve used numerous times with wonderful results. When cancellation is required, it’s very easy to ensure refunds. The payment protection in place to ensure ease for everyone. The reviews ate also very helpful.

I am, though, very disappointed that you can longer print your saved trips. Not bad! The app pretty much does what you would expect of a travel app. The info provided on many lodging options could use a little refinement. Specific information is sometimes not easy to obtain and I have to visit the hotel’s site itself. This rather defeats the purpose of going to the TripAdvisor app in the first place. I expect this however as all the travel apps I’ve used have this problem at times. No surprises…three stars.

We use Trip Advisor a lot and find it very helpful. Reviews are great and is well organized. Would like to see more information in the overview section really describing the activity, etc. and the exact or at least the general location. Never enough info to figure out exactly where and what it is. You can find the location using maps BUT it is a pain. Would also like to have better way of knowing what activities are free vs having to pay.

Great feedback from travelers. However, good luck getting there. You can’t copy and paste any addresses to navigate to the locations. You click on the listing, then the address, then it opens the location on a tripadvisor map, so you click on the listing, then the address, and so on. In an endless loop. THREE forum posts about this issue have been CLOSED by tripadvisor. The developers are well aware. They just dont care about this annoying inconvenience.

I’ve had this app on different phones for years. But this year they’ve made some huge changes I don’t like. A new instagram layout that’s unnecessary. It added in links to various booking sites that I have no interest in and keep clicking in by accident because they’re in the way. Also there are now a ton of glitches. My saved trips lists are suddenly no where to be seen as of today. There was a time where I kept getting kicked out and pictures wouldn’t load. This app is really failing a lot.

TripAdvisor is going the wrong direction. It used to be my go-to when traveling to a new place, but now I can’t even see a full list of restaurants or things to do. All Google search results say “everything you need to know” but end up at a poorly curated landing page with no real information. Forum results have no dates and are often 5 or 10 years old and now irrelevant. Everything is sorted by sponsored content. I love being able to read reviews, and have found many amazing places because of TripAdvisor. However, I find the website and so hard to navigate, and am frustrated every time I use it. When I want to look up a city/town bI can’t just type in the name and search. It requires me type in something besides just the area. I then have to click through several pages to get to the main page. If you could fix this, it would be perfect!

I love this app because when a restaurant’s really really good I love ❤️ to tell everybody about it! So that you can get amazing food too! But more because when a restaurant is terrible and services terrible you get a heads up and get to decide if you want to take a chance or not. Also there are so many experiences that we’ve had in our travels is always nice to have a voice I tell a good things and bad from a hotel experience to an adventure park… Thanks for making all of our opinions count!

Trip advisor used to be better. Now, having sold out to advertisers and changing the structure of their listings to accomodate that, it has become noticeably less useful. One example, you can no longer simply see an entire list starting at #1 of the best things to do in any given location. They break it up into multiple lists and don’t give the user a way to simply view all the things to do, by order of ranking. I used to swear by Trip Advisor. Unfortunately, now not so much.

Very good app! If you’re planning a trip or even looking for local options, you need this app. It’s definitely one of my most used apps for a reason. It’s very informative and helpful. It allows you to save things you find at a location to your “places” list that you create so when you go, open your saved destination and have at it. I planned a weeklong Vegas trip of things to do, places to eat, etc this way and never missed a thing. I ran out of vacation before I did options! Highly recommended

A Well-Known Quantity Doesn’t Quite Make it to Mobile. I love TripAdvisor mainly as a kind of travel diary and to check out possible restaurants and things to do. But I mainly use it on a computer. The mobile platform seems balky and hard to maneuver around. Not too long ago, they came out with an updated version in all platforms that ruined several features I had come to depend upon. But for advance planning I still find it useful.

I really enjoy TripAdvisor. I use it for day trips, weekend getaways, and vacations. There are reviews by other travelers and you can ask questions about your destination. You can book your trip through the app. It’s very convenient and easy to use. Plan spur of the moment trips and getaways or do advanced planning for a trip in the future. You can save places to favorites, ex. I have a trip with saved places for our anniversary getaway, and I’m saving places for a planned trip to Iceland.

I use TripAdvisor all the time! I love how I can save a trip I’m planning and add to it, change it or delete it whenever I want! I love all the answers I get from different destinations that help me make my travel plans. I think what I love be the most is seeing everyone else’s reviews of places, hotels/motels, restraints, businesses, just all sorts of reviews that help in my trip decision making. Especially having young kids!!! I don’t go anywhere without checking reviews to see if it will work

This app doesn’t allow you to be specific enough in your filter, it makes you filter through too much debris to quickly obtain the answer you’re looking for. It would be helpful to provide a filter for a specific place you’re looking to stay at, not just an area, and having the option of expanding the search to nearby rentals would be extremely helpful.

The information in the app is great. The app itself has gone way downhill. It used to allow you to use saved “trips” offline. Not anymore. What is even worse is the APPS connectivity problems. I can be right by a cell tower or wifi router and it can’t connect to the internet. I have to sit and push retry too many times to connect This happens on both my mobile phones. It is REALLY annoying and renders the app useless when exploring a city you have researched before going.

I’ve used TripAdvisor forever to plan trips, find the best restaurants, etc. It’s been my go-to source for every trip I’ve taken or just to discover new things to do or restaurants around me. I’m uninstalling it as of today. It is no longer user friendly at all. You have to put in a location from the start and sometimes I just know the name but not the exact location. It was a good run and I loved having the “my trips” saved as a timeline for me to remember my trips so I’ll really miss it.

What happened to the app (or TripAdvisor itself)? It used to be so good! Now it’s just… whatever. Example: If I want to see my results listed in order by traveler ranking I’ll see a higher ranking hotel lower on the list than a lower ranking one. Or let’s say you only want to see the bathroom photos taken by travelers? Impossible. The options are either/or. The latter really sucks because the traveler photos are the best thing about TripAdvisor and the only reason I keep the app installed.

I would appreciate it if when I add something to a trip list you wouldn’t have the notification interfere w scrolling, and don’t make it last so long. It literally blocks the whole screen for 12 seconds, and I can’t do anything until it goes away. That’s really frustrating! Enough with the Ads! If I’m looking at specific things to do in a specific location, I don’t want to accidentally touch an ad for Illinois or Louisiana; I’m not visiting those places! I would just like common sense!

You can add notes too. I read and trust the reviews, it has never disappointed me. I also review the places I’ve saved to help other travelers.
