It’s great when it works, which is 95% of the time. But once in awhile it hangs up. Or can’t read the mon’s CP’s. Once I had to soft reset my phone it glitched so bad. And it can be sluggish at times as well. But overall, nothing works as well in terms of game info, or is as safe. So, it’s a Recommend from me with a smidge of caution.

  2. Ann Mickey says:

The are so many features that I just love! I like that it reads my screen so I don’t have to type all the info in. I like the names that it puts on the clipboard automatically. I like that I can quickly see what a 100% IV would look like on that level. I like that it can calculate what the stats would be if I dumped stardust and candy into a pokemon. This is a great app! The only downside is that for all that goodness, it does use a lot of resources. So, if you have a lower-end phone, the may be some issues with performance.

  3. Bekki Keva says:

Definitely a useful app, BUT… Using Android Pie (Pixel 2), the overlay seems to keep closing for no reason. I’ve given it the permission to display over apps. The issue persists even in manual/screenshot mode. =( I don’t know if there’s any way to find a crash log? Anyway, it just takes a bit longer to catalog all my ‘mon since I have to constantly switch back to Poke Genie and re-enable the overlay. (Edited to correct the Android version)

  4. Devie Elinor says:

It’s a great app, really helpful and comes with a lot of unique features, wish one of them wasn’t behind a paywall though. I think the ads are good enough and the option to turn them off for paying is good, ads are annoying but you got to make money somehow. I just feel like you should make enough with the ads and don’t need another pay incentive.

  5. Leatrice Katherine says:

Admittedly, this is the only Pokemon Go stat calculator that I’ve used, so I don’t have much to compare it to. This thing is beautiful, though. My wife has this on the iPhone, but the latest features of the Android OS allow for a great overlay, using screen caps, rather than having to take screen shots. The ads are unobtrusive, and they seem to give the same sorts of ads that I get in Chrome. I have no complaints with this thing, and it works great.

  6. Avery Myrtilla says:

Great app… most of the time. it seems like once a week the app causes my OnePlus 6T to freeze and become completely unresponsive. The only way to fix it is to force reset the phone holding down the power and volume up buttons. It never happened before I downloaded the app and it only seems to happen when Poke Genie is running. Coincidence? I don’t think so.

  7. Alycesone Johnna says:

Very useful app, used hundreds of times. Best on androids because of the app overlay. Has improved gameplay. Minor/Major problem, sometimes when using this for extended periods of time my entire phone willl reset as in my phone will shut down and restart. Not really a big issue for me it just wastes a bit of time. May be a bug or something on my end. 4 stars

  8. Arthes Camellia says:

Pretty easy and effective to use. The only real downside I’ve come across is the drain to my batteries life. I have experienced some increased lag from Pokemon Go now and again, when using this app. However, I have a Samsung Galaxy S7, which already has latency issues with Go. The app itself doesn’t create the lag, but it doesn’t help with it when my phone is acting up. Otherwise it works perfect.

  9. Darnell Dax says:

Easy to use. Whether you use the auto fill or manual put in the information its easy and informative. The app was recommended to me by a friends who also play. the newer features are great too. Like the appraisal for example. Instead of remembering what your team leader said you just hit the ribbon button at the top, use appraisal by your leader and it checks off the boxes for you as the text comes up. Simple, easy, and informative.

  10. Rosette Katiella says:

The app works 98% of the time. The other 2% I have problems with the overlay vanishing and I have to restart my phone before it works properly again. I believe this is due to my ram being to high but it rarely happens so it does not effect my rating of the app. Overall my favorite aspect of Poke Genie is the various tools you can use. Whether you need a scanner, name generator, battle simulator and etc, you can find it all here. Since discovering this app I have had a better time playing PoGo.

  11. Katlynne Cresswell says:

Have been using this app for months with no issue. Super helpful. However today, for the first time, this app completely crashed my phone. I touched the button to scan a Pokemon’s info, and my Samsung Galaxy S9+ was rendered completely unresponsive. Locking and unlocking the phone did not work. I had to soft reboot the phone to regain any semblance of functionality. Not sure why this happened, and considering it’s the only time it’s ever happened, I’m only deducting 1 star off of my rating. If it continues to happen again, I’m unfortunately gonna have to take off more. Hopefully an update is released that fixes this problem in its entirely, as I’ve seen other reviews with the exact same issues.

  12. Sibley Camreen says:

Very easy to check IV. Great for figuring out which Pokemon to keep or transfer. Just the tap of a button and you get an assortment of stats. Because it makes use of screenshots and overlays its undetectable and therefore you can’t be banned. The app is easy to use, rarely crashes or glitches, and has a nice UI. Other than the add pop ups, which actually quite conveniently don’t cover much of the screen at all this is a great app and I would totally recommend you give it a try.

  13. Cheron Bradbourne says:

App periodically crashes my phone. The screen goes black and the phone requires a hard reset to fix the issue. I have a friend having the same issue with his S8+. The app was nice beyond this glitch. Update** App is working great, I appreciate the prompt response from the dev as well. Many do not bother to respond so much respect for that as well.

  14. Dominion Dain says:

This app is amazing in it’s free form. I gladly upgraded to premium (which is not usual for me) just to give something back to the developer. One thing out needs is the ability to export the list of scanned Pokemon, so that list can be maintained across new devices. As it currently sits, you would have to re-scan hundreds of Pokemon on a new device. Heck, this app is so useful that I wouldn’t mind if the backup function were rolled in with the $2.99 premium upgrade.

  15. Aleisha Jersey says:

This is a great app that helps understanding the strengths/ weaknesses of your pokemon much easier. The only issue is that since I’ve started using it, the game will randomly freeze (infrequently) causing me to need to close and reload. After the reload, works fine until the next random freeze. It is infrequent, maybe once a day and I’m not absolutely sure it’s this app causing it. I’d still definitely recommend downloading & using the app though.

  16. Kyson Eurlene says:

Dropping one star, simply because of the lack of data backup export/import feature. This app is already, in my eyes, a necessity for any serious or casual player. It’s user-friendly accessibility and simple UI would only further be enhanced with a backup option to save custom templates, ‘mons, battle sim data, etc. Please consider, And keep up the awesome work 🤘

  17. Clynt Lindsley says:

It’s great except for 1 annoyance…it crashes often, especially if there’s more than 1 app open. Its been the same on my last 3 phones, all different so Its not just my phone or service. If this problem could be fixed it would be 5 stars, hands down. The content, and %’s are easy to navigate and a huge help in the game. Personally I like it enough to use despite having to go the startup process again from time to time. But I can see how others might get pissed off. Hope this helps someone.

  18. Johnny Revecca says:

I am rating 3 stars because the overlay randomly crashes on my Galaxy S9+ and prevents any screen input (home, back, etc.) from registering. The only resort is to force my phone to reboot with the hardware keys. It isn’t the end of the world but it is an annoying inconvenience. Beyond the issue I describe, this app is great! It helps my inexperienced self identify the best PokeMon to keep, classifies and tracks it all. It really is a great piece of work overall!

  19. Laverna Alechia says:

Love that I can scan through quickly and get IV. However, now each time I scan, I have to manually delete the entire name for it to paste the IV. It used to just do it automatically after clicking on the name to change it. Not really bad, but when scanning a large amount, it does make it much more time consuming.

  20. ceedeee 87 says:

I use poke genie every time I turn the game on. That being said, I don’t think paying for IVision is worth it. It let me try it out for a little and I was like ” wow this is so fast and efficient”. But now that I have it is super unreliable. I spend more time restarting it and double checking that it’s not on the last scan than just pressing the icon. Overall great app just probs an unnecessary add on

  21. Chris Scott says:

Has been a great app/tool for it’s intended purpose. Very helpful. Rated 4* bc 3-4 times in a 6 month stretch the app will turn my screen black and freeze. Not allow me to do anything or restart my phone, answer calls, just nothing. A couple times it took about 30 minutes before the black screen went away but 1 time I had to wait for my phone to die. So I actually uninstalled for a while. But have given it another chance.

  22. Luis Granillo says:

Great improvement to quality of life since the ability to join remote raid lobbies. Really helpful to those that don’t live in the city. IV rater is great. Don’t use any of the other options so I can’t rate those. Great app. I’m hopeful that they’ll add new features in the future. Would be nice to remote raid without remote passes though, would have been great during the year long lockdown, but that’s Niantic refusal to help players.

  23. Thomas Smith says:

It’s a great app, very important for when new raids come out. Just gets annoying sometimes when you finally place in a match, and the host never sends a request. I send the friend request within the time limit and wait for the invite, but never comes. Although it does sometimes say something failed and out you at top of the list again, but most of the time it doesn’t. All in all though for the most part this app helps a lot and is my go to

  24. Ben Webb says:

Incredibly useful app. Flipping back and forth to some website or another app to input information was so tedious and time consuming, the overlay is amazing and the IVision addition is totally worth it in my opinion. The extra features are awesome as well and being able to back up data is nice. However trying to play a second account is incredibly obnoxious, all the scans get mixed together, you’d have to delete everything and load from individual back ups for each account.

  25. Salvador Avelar-Lopez says:

I thought this app would be slow, glitchy, and overall not very good. However, it is opposite from all of that. The app is fast, has many features, and is super useful. It provides tips that beginners would find very useful. Provides an easy way to join remote raids and an easy way to change pokemon name. And those are just some of the many features it has. I use it mainly for those two things, but I’m sure many others who are more into Pokemon go would fimd the other features as useful.

  26. Jonathan Armijo says:

This app is awesome it does everything it says and more. The only thing that I would love to have it do is show the stats of the Pokémon that I’m catching but it’s a minor draw back but overall I really like it. I will mention that I did pay for the app a total of 9 bucks and if your planning on using the free version it is horrible but the paid version is awesome, if your willing to pay that you won’t regret it. There are 2 things to buy first is 5.99 and second is 2.99. Will add more later.

  27. Brandon says:

I love this app a lot. I prefer it aesthetically over CalcyIV, it’s easier to read the stat results, it looks modern and clean. Unfortunately I won’t be using it anymore because there is no way to back up my data and restore it on another device. Any time I factory reset my phone or upgrade to a new device I have to re-scan all of my Pokemon. It’s inconvenient.

  28. Will McArthur says:

It’s a really great companion app that I have been using off and on for a couple years now. It’s really a great tool that helps players stay organized and push their game. It’s relatively simple to use and has a lot of great features. One of the only problems I have run into is after scanning several Pokemon in a row. Sometimes the screen will go black and the phone will still be on but you have to do a hard reboot to fix the issue. Other than that very small specific issue it’s really great!

  29. Chris Blount says:

Game changer: After just being a casual collector for a while when I was bored, this app has made the strategy part of the game come alive. I can’t worry about all the old catches I threw out, but now going forward Im having fun looking at everything and seeing potential before I cut them loose. I had no reservations about getting the premium version given the amount of time they have spent working on this. The interface takes some getting used to but the stats are very detailed. I’m hooked.

  30. BlasphemousMasochist says:

Absolutely love this overlay. It has a slight learning curve when you first start using it, but its helpful messages make it pretty easy to figure out. They provide just enough in the free version to make you feel like you aren’t completely missing out if you don’t pay for premium. I can respect any developer that doesn’t force their players in to paid content. They even give you a good trial time with the experimental real time IV tracker. This reduced my storage stress by like 60% too!

  31. Kylee Jayne says:

UPDATE: Im not sure if the a tual bug was fixed, or if the phone i have now is just more updated for the app, but either way the app works perfectly! Been using this app for a while, amd its definetly the best one like it! I absolutely love the remote raiding feature. I would give 5 stars, but it will crash after I join a remote raid. Its okay i just have to re start it, but its frustrating sometimes. If this were to be fixedI would give 5 stars all day!

  32. Nate Bailey says:

I don’t think it’s perfect, but it’s much faster and more consistent than pokeraid. I give five stars because it is excellent, but it needs tweaks, which is okay in my eyes. Ive only seen two MINOR instances where it glitched up, and I personally didn’t lose any items or pokemon from the glitches, so I mean YA KNOW. But it works great, I’m uninstalling pokeraid after this message.

  33. Anthony Pugh says:

Enjoying it so far but it does crash regularly. After upgrading to paid version to support the developer, I’ve turned off the iVision scanning feature. I feel like that feature doesn’t save time and is less accurate than manual captures from the appraisal screen. Overall I’m still very happy with the software and do recommend it.

  34. Garrett Gilbeau says:

So far so good! I have only scratched the surface of this app’s capabilities, but just using the ability evaluation and rating system in Pokémon GO is awesome. Being able to customize the rename data is pretty convenient, all the way up to tournament level details. Being able to easily see which movesets are best for each individual Pokémon and evolution is crazy convenient as well. Fantastic app and I wish I knew about it long ago!

  35. The S.C.P. Foundation says:

Constantly having issues with connection and verification for seemingly no reason. If I have to sit in a que I got in at 2k people wait till the end just for the app to break and me to lose my spot and go to the back of the line with 9k people I don’t think it’s a good app. At least when it works it works but currently it isn’t.

  36. Hanazara Alyxia says:

If the app didnt crash every minute and a half (yes, i timed it) after each use, AND close pokemon go for me, I’d rate this higher. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled the app, restarted my device, updated my device to the most current versionand even turned off battery saver and it STILL crashes. Really wish it could be fixed ASAP. Other than that, i love everything about this app. Its super fun and easy to use, i just wish it wouldnt crash so often

  37. Dylan Smith says:

Fantastic for Android! I love this app for Android, however, my girlfriend has a hard time using it on her iPhone. For me, I can scan Pokemon super quick and easy, but she has to go and like, screen record and go back, and it’s almost double the buttons/clicks. She finds it to be a pain to scan sometimes, so I DO have a suggestion to make it better. I’d love to have a way to manually enter IV’s and recalculate the stats. Would be super helpful for helping her scan her Pokemon faster!

  38. Sara Petunia says:

Edit: I’ve updated my review because I don’t know what happened to this app and they’re not emailing me back but I have to put in most of my scans manually now. I’ve followed all the recommended troubleshooting steps to no avail. It’s still good for remote raiding if you do that I guess. Previous review—— Definitely worth the paid version. I’m particularly fond of the ability to generate search strings and check pvp stats

  39. Martin Brandy says:

When it works it is great; the best app of its kind. However, it crashes frequently, up to every other scan, even with battery saver and all the other fixes they suggested to other reviewers, and the crashes are becoming more frequent. It is also a role of the dice as to whether or not it will force restart my phone on scanning, which isn’t too frequent, but it is frusterating when it happens. It would easily be a 5* review if those bugs were fixed, but as is, it is frusterating to use.

  40. Chris Sabella says:

Needs a way to separate notifications categories and opt out of annoying ones, super basic feature missing for an app that has other paid features. Edit December 2022: they’ve now added multiple tiers for a subscription model with the highest tier being around 50$ per month. There are discords that do this service free and more conveniently, please do not be fooled into thinking this is good value for money. Also, still no way to opt out of annoying notifications as noted originally.
