I love this game – the only game I play daily. BUT I recently changed wifi providers at home and can no longer get it to load. I tried multiple things to fix that, contacted tech support (who recommended I do all the things I already had done), and have uninstalled and reinstalled a half a dozen times and I still can’t load the app. Really disappointed.

Unless you’re willing to pay for the advantage, the game has a steep climb between the early play and the mid-tier. Once you start building up your characters and developing a strategy, though, the game starts falling into place. The underlying combat mechanic is very pleasing and will keep you checking in on the recovery of your stamina to play again.

This game has beautiful arts and incredible graphics. Other than that the game is very expensive, it requires you to pay not only to win, but just to play. It’s incredibly unfriendly to the new players. Every new weekly event is nearly impossible to play without purchasing the latest deck and the value of that deck drops to 0 by the next event. Developers continue to add features we (players community) ask them to remove. I’ve been playing this game for over 18 months and I loved it, but at the moment I recommend everyone to stay away from it.

Would be fun, but the stamina system is a terrible joke. After only playing the game for a couple days, I’m at the point where missions cost so much that I can only do two before I run out of stamina. Which only takes about 3 mins to do said missions together. After that, nothing else to do except wait, or try to play the events. Speaking of, events are so ridiculously mismatched that you can barely participate. Almost every time I try them, I get paired against someone two to three times stronger than me. It’s also about impossible to level your characters up by significant amounts to get better. Only good parts of the game are the artwork is very good and the gameplay is decently put together. However, it does not make up for the downfalls. I reccomend other card/ deck building games if you’re looking for a game to invest time into.

Hate to say it but here is a game that more and more looks like it is heading into the final stage of a mobile games life. You know the one, where all the new updates and changes to gameplay are designed to make the whales pay more to play. The point in a games life where people stop playing because the game isn’t as fun as it used to be. They introduce a new event type (one of three total) that clearly is geared towards the big spenders. They slowly decrease the rewards you can get by just being a skilled active player. Don’t get me wrong, the game is still a lot of fun. After playing for a year (paid vip player for 3 months now) I am starting to see the signs. I actually would still recommend it to people. Its got great gameplay, a deep strategy component, and card collecting/rpg elements that are (mostly) executed quite well. Its just at a point now where I’m afraid it will get more and more difficult to stay competitive or even just enjoy playing. There has been major blowback in the last week over the new event, so maybe the devs will make some efforts to fix it. However, I’ve been down this road too many times and I’m not super optimistic. We’ll see what happens. For prospective new players: its a pretty good game, just know what you’re getting into.

Definitely pay to win, and it can get very very very very expensive really quick. F2P will take a while to get going. If you can avoid investing a lot of money, if any at all, into it and play the events and get the cards and stuff that way (which will take a while and can be a grind), then eventually you can be somewhat competitive but still lose out to the big spenders

Visually incredible! The gameplay itself is good and the events are fun. Keeps me playing during downtimes away from home or when going to bed on a daily basis. It is free to play and you dont feel ridiculously hindered without paying. You get a good amount of diamonds in the game for free to support decent event decks and such. Obviously paying will get you better cards faster. The optional subscription price is astronomical (currently $30/mo), though. What this mobile game thinks it provides that is worth double the price to play full scale MMOs like WoW is beyond me.

Out of all the “match 3+card attack” games out there, this is by far my most favorite to play. Pros: Like all f2p games, yes, you do have a limited amount of “stamina” to play the basic missions, but there are so many other weekly themed game modes, guild events, PvP matches, daily dungeons, etc., that they will keep you preoccupied. It awards gems more frequently than other “match 3” f2p games that I’ve played, allowing the ability to claim more higher powered heroes more frequently. The “match 3” mechanics this game implements are very enjoyable, as you can match multiple times per turn so long as time doesn’t run out or you mismatch something, and matching allows you to move the orbs up, down, and diagonally to match. A lot of heroes have cool mechanics, affecting all different sorts of the gameplay aspects, anything from buffs to gem alterations to attack multipliers, etc. In-game graphics/art are phenomenal and immersive. Cons: As fun as the game is, it can seem quite daunting for a new player as there isn’t a whole lot in terms of in-game help. You mostly have to rely on either their forum or a fellow guild mate. It’s difficult to navigate your way through the different events, and figure out what the items, events, etc., even are or are for. The various number of upgrade materials, and items/shards needed to attain said upgrade materials, is overwhelming, as well as the individuality of the materials, as it seems as though each higher level hero has their own unique upgrade material needed. From a technical standpoint – this game drains battery power fairly quick, so it’s a good idea to plug it in if you’re planning on playing for a while, or even letting sit idle in your background apps. It also seems to be a bit buggy/glitchy at times, as I’ve run across a few lag points, or spots where during a mission, if you defeat a final enemy with an ability, it won’t progress to the next wave until you match gems. The game even froze up my phone entirely at one point, forcing me to have to restart. All in all, this is a very enjoyable game that’s hard to put down!

The community seems nice. it’s a combat match 3 game. The second map of the main campaign is a steep difficulty all of a sudden. it feels very money hungry. I paid 4.99 for an intro deal. it helped a bit. On the positive side of you participate in the other events you are rewarded with more resources to either purchase more cards or evolve your current ones pretty early. My phone is a little older so I think that’s why mine lags. If it ran smoother I think I might enjoy it more.

Great game love the grafics and different events that go on, although its frustrating that you can NOT save your progress and switch to a new device. ive been playing for over a year or so now but had to get a new phone and lost EVERYTHING I did. I wish there was a way to transfer my game over I was passed level 50 and now am lacking motivation to play the game anymore because I had to restart.

I like this game a lot. The graphics are amaxing and most of the levels are challenging without being frustrsting. Only drawback is the constant need to spend actual $$ to get to the levels and options really needed to advance. I have won a ton of medals and prizes but nothing that actually helps me advance.

Pay to win, $30/mo subscription=lose, requires intense game time to invest and get anywhere. If you have the time or want another time-sync, or have 💰 to burn this is the game for you! Steep learning curve makes the fairly dynamic game mechanics of upgrading cards/relics interesting. The repetitive tasks keep it casual half the time. 2 stars; 4 if the monthly subscription went down to $10/mo or less….heck, they would probably get more players and more money if they did!

I used to play. But had to start over each time I had to update my phone. Now I have better access, but the app closes every time I try to advance past the third challenge of the first mission series. I had the 1000 Stamina for (re-) starting all over again, now I’m down to 920-940, and never got to the fourth mission. I loved playing, but if the game won’t let me play, why bother? Uninstalled… for now.

I love my guild who have become my friends. The graphics are amazing and the gameplay involved. The game is a lot of fun but there are too many changes in the gameplay and rules. And IT IS EXPENSIVE!!!! If you want to advance your rank or even just keep up with the newer characters and weapons, you pretty much have to spend (real) money every event. I’m on the fence as to whether I will just delete the app and basically eat the loss. I’m leaning toward the delete side heavily.

This is a great game, thats very addicting, but it is also absolutely necessary to spend money if you want to get anywhere or make any progress. Even after checking online for the most effective ways to play entirely free, you’re going to be leagues behind everyone else. and not in the sense that feels appropriately different between free players, and paying players. the other point is when you do spend money, the cards you get don’t help with future events at all, and collect dust.

The game mechanics are fun and the artwork is top notch. Used to be a great game overall. But since 3.0, it seems the game keeps getting worse and worse. Terrible communication from the developers and frequent inexplicable changes that just make the game more frustrating and less rewarding. I dont think anyone who makes the game actually plays it and there is clearly no testing or quality control going on.

New update, made the game impossible unless you spend hundreds of dollars $30 for VIP a month and you still need to pay more out of pocket to get certain event characters. All of the things you need are extremely expensive and takes a super long time to attain with no way to purchase… I have been playing just under a year and am super disappointed at how the game has changed. However, the graphics are simply gorgeous.

The developer’s greed appears to have ruined this formerly fun game (albeit a flawed one). Before it was a fun game that could be terrible expensive. Now its just terribly expensive and not so fun. And its not just the amounts required to succeed; the events have grown increasingly stale and grind oriented. I will try to enjoy it during the pendency of my (very expensive) membership but doubt I’ll succeed.

This can be an expensive game to play. Depending on how much you can afford to spend, you can potentially spend from $5 -$2400 (not kidding) a month on this game. Why? The collection of cards is practically never ending. Over 6k+ cards, new ones premiere weekly as if the game needs more. Building health points is costly. The rewards are mediocre at best. Love, Love Love the game, i would give it more stars if it wasnt so expensive.

So much to do!! Never bored or unable to play a match for some goal or victory!! Just a little confusing at times because you get a lot of rewards from battles and half the stuff is crazy looking and doesn’t go with anything right away but as you progress they end up being used. Update 6/19 I ended up not having time for this game anymore but after 6 months I was done. A lot of effort is put into this game by the devs though.

At one point would have given this a 5 star review. Changes over the past year have destroyed competition, playability, and any interest I ever had in putting in time, effort, and even a little money. Great combo of styles of games, but destroyed by company wringing every nickle out of spenders. Nearly impossible to get started for newbies without spending. Unless you are a spender, move along.

I really like this game. It is, however, not a free game. You really have to spend to get anywhere and that sucks kinda. But overall, very challenging game, lots of stuff to do, several areas that really test you strategically, great graphics, and awesome guild interaction where I’ve really built bonds. A lot of their recent changes are moving the game in a more expensive direction. Would only recommend if you are bored and have money to waste.

I love this game; it is very addictive, fun, and should easily be a 5-star. However, recent changes to it are making a lot of people want to quit (especially the f2p players). I pay a monthly VIP program, and a little extra from time to time, but definitely reconsidering due to the increase cost of obtaining certain items (relics). It will be more difficult for players who want to play this game for free to keep up.

Don’t bother playing this game. It was cool at first but it is way too expensive and way to hard to grind for things. you basically will have to spend $100 a week to get the team required for the events of the week. The cards become outdated instantly after that. You can still use them but they’re not ideal for when that type of event comes back around. I’m not f2p and they have consistently made things harder and more expensive.

It has potential but…. The main problem I have with this game is that every five minutes I run out of stamina even if it is full.Yeah it comes back quickly but that hardly matters with how quickly it goes away. In addition to this, the menu and system UI is so difficult to navigate that I often get lost just trying to get back to the story menu and it is almost impossible to find the quest menu so half the time I dont even know what to do if I run into a problem. For those reasons its 3 stars.

The basics of the game are awesome. It’s TCG meets Candy Crush. Learning the basic controls is simple, but they strategy can get deep. Awesome design. Unfortunately, while the basic game is phenomenal, too many bells and whistles have been added and the game is incomprehensible. The cards have dozens of abilities, often keyworded without explanation. There are half a dozen dungeons that seem to rotate, dropping any of a few hundred crafting mats. Picking up the game now is almost impossible.

My recommendation is to STAY FAR FAR AWAY. Developers have gone CRAZY with unreal requirements to spend $$$ in order to play. Although there’s a free to play “option” all rewards (yes, PAID rewards too) have been greatly diminished to the point that this has become a REQUIREMENT to spend BIG in order to be even remotely competitive. Huge waste of over a year’s time building decks & teams.

I have really enjoyed the game really do t mind spending for VIP, and occasional packs. But, this return to the pack system has made the game impossible to play. If I was free to play, i dont know that i could compete at all. The game was awesome before network brought packs back, at this point i am frustrated and hoping they will put in a fix.

With the new updates, it’s impossible to progress without a crazy amount of cash. At least before, if you played hard and were patient, you could earn the ultimate heroes over time, and you could still rank fairly high on the board if you didn’t have specific heroes. Forget Play to Win. Now it’s a full-on Pay to PLAY game, and it’s gotten boring because skill has almost no place in it.

Most aspects of this game have returned to normal after the recent overhaul debacle. It still costs too much money to do well. But, it is now possible to have fun for at least half the duration of each event. I will revisit this opinion once my current decks become obsolete. I’m not sure a newcomer would ever be able to compete, though, without spending a bunch of money.

This used to be a fun game. But all the drastic changes they’ve made have meant that players can only really succeed in it if they pay to play. I never intended to pay to play (too expensive and not something I can spend enough time on to make worthwhile), so it’s really hard to feel like I’m getting anywhere. Also, they keep making major changes, realizing the changes weren’t well received, and pulling back on changes. And some things they do behind the scenes have annoyed a lot of players.

I never intended to pay to play (too expensive and not something I can spend enough time on to make worthwhile), so it’s really hard to feel like I’m getting anywhere. I really like the concept and gameplay. The artwork is great and there’s tons of events to play in. However, it is the most pay to win game I’ve experienced. The in-game purchase prices are almost criminal. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars purchasing event packs trying to put together competitive event decks. But, I tend to get cards that are unrelated to the event. Trying to evolve and awaken characters is a lesson in frustration as it is nearly impossible to get the necessary items.

I absolutely love this game and get on playing it every chance I get. Though there seems to be a lot of lag (not on my part from my experience). Also every time (recently) that I’ve purchased something ( not with money) the game crashes and I don’t receive what I purchased. Game also crashes when I collect daily rewards. Please fix!

Fun game! Expensive as hell! All they care is about your money! Hard to advance without expending lots of$$$, I been playing for a year but the last 6 months I haven’t care much about this game! Just because the game is expensive and to repetitive! If you want something like this but much better and cheaper, get puzzles and dragons, they give you up to 100 gems for free every so often!!!!!

The graphics are still stunning and I love that they incorporate all kinds of characters. Some are their own but they throw in quite a few familiar ones too. From books, movies, and mythology. Its really good. However, I wrote a review 2 years ago of how great the gameplay was. Now after they changed everything I hardly play due to the frustration of being kicked off the app in the middle of battles causing me to lose progress. Its super irritating. Ill still play but they need to fix the issue.

Zero stars. The game play is great but calling it a money grab would be an understatement. . I see many people start playing, then spending, and then quit in frustration after blowing through hundreds or thousands of dollars in a short time. The game will eventually become boring without spending and most FTP players don’t last long. The game is also glitchy and don’t expect a resolution on any but the simplest of issues.

If you’re going to play this game, I highly recommend using something like Bluestacks on a computer. Trying to play it on a phone results in *constant* crashes, sometimes in the middle of matches, which leads to lost energy, lost friend options, lost keys during special events… You get the idea. To say it’s frustrating it an understatement. Honestly, if I didn’t have Bluestacks as a option so that I could play on another device, I probably would have quit the game already.

There are really two games here – one is free to play, and one is pay-to-win. I didn’t pay anything, so I can’t comment on how that one goes… The free to play game is excellent. With any long running game, there is always the problem of power creep – if the power level stays the same, it gets boring. If the power level goes down, then the players who have been around longer are more powerful, and new players get discouraged. It’s remarkable how well Legendary deals with constantly rising power levels. When I first started, you might see millions of damage. When I finished, there were people doing trillions (I think I was doing a few billion). There’s a large time commitment if you want to get the latest and greatest heroes. But, if you take a break, you can jump back in and catch up.

Game randomly crashes after I finish a battle, or spend gems on something, or even just switching from Shop to Play. I haven’t really spoke up about it but this was the last time. I lost all my fire sutures, I’ve lost gems in the past because the game froze and when it was loading to claim, boom, back to my android home screen. My character sometimes wouldn’t load up, or even better, I level up my card, go to watch an ad to get my 15% or greater bonus, and after the ad, game crashes, gone. Help!

Exceptionally expensive. Stamina cost is extremely high in the early game especially, and events are set up so you need the ENTIRE event deck to accomplish much. This game wants you to spend hundreds of dollars a month (not including VIP subscription) to do well at all. Hard to recruit heroes of value otherwise. I like the gameplay and art (kind of – a lot is reused and it falls under the fantasy category of super exposed skinny women :/)
