Just… Meh.. Not much was done to improve from the first game. Feels much much more grindy now as well. Not bad.. But not great. Was hoping for more improvement from the first game. If your on the fence about buying this and already own the original… Don’t. Just go replay battleheart 1. Wish I could get a refund

In reality, this is Battleheart1.5, not 2. Essentially what the devs did was reskined Battleheart 1 giving it better graphics and changed level progression to be much more annoying. Skill points are now shared amongst the party so you now have to choose which character benefits from the grinding you have to do to progress. It is definitely what Battleheart 1 should have been but I was hoping for so much more from Battleheart 2. At least they made it a payed app instead of putting in-app purchases.

BH 1 and BH legacy were fun games. This feels like BH 1 without a story, without a sense of progression, and you’re fighting the same battles over and over again. The passive skills are nice and let’s you play around with different builds but its overshadowed by the fact that the entire party shares skill points. I don’t think I’ll replay it once I finish the game the first time.

Super simple to get started with and succeed, but allows plenty of versatility that it does not feel stale after hours of playing. Great game to spend time on.

*WARNING* This game has no cloud save or any save functionality if you delete the game or change devices. This is such a glaring and weird omission to have especially considering this is a game with a (relatively) large file size and is meant to be played for hours given its nature as an action RPG. So deleting the game is akin to stop playing it because I can’t imagine why anyone would want to re-download it and start all over again. Game is solid for what it is, but its hard to recommend based on this omission. Wish I knew that or else I wouldn’t have bought it cuz if I did.

I dont mind a reskinned game with the exact same mechanics as the original. Thats what this game is. But the instant access to all characters, no story or intros, and a grind level progression cheapens the game. My biggest gripe is in the control schemes. Theres a lot going on at once yet characters will sit there doing nothing while being attacked. Brutal Street 2 has perfected the interface for these type of games, with auto targeting and attacking ranged characters, easy use of skills, and time slow down when issuing orders. I figured Battleheart 2 would imlliment these obvious quality of life changes in their interface, but no. Im still plagued with the same exact controls from the first game.

Huge fan since the first battleheart, best game on the Play store and have spent countless hours playing and replaying the game over. I’ve been hoping they released an update but they did better as released battleheart 2. Thank you to the Dev team for sticking with a one off payment and not pay-to-win like others. I would happily donate in order to you to keep of developing and improving on this game. Keep it up!

Fantastic game. Customization only appears when you unlock all of a hero’s active skills. I appreciate that they gave you every hero at the beginning but it’s a bit overwhelming if you haven’t played the previous games. UI is fantastic. Your heroes don’t attack enemies back when ranged enemies hit them, so you can’t start a battle and put your phone down and let it run on it’s own. The game gets really grindy by the end and there’s a lot less replay value than Legacy overall. Definitely worth the price. You should buy this game!

Got dozens oh hours in the 1st game and hundreds in the legacy version. Battleheart 2 seems unfinished compared to the previous 2 games, finished the last boss after 8 hours of playtime. Pros: -Smooth gameplay. -Loads of customisation options. -A great feeling of previous games. -No in app purchases. Cons: -Very little content compared to the previous games. -No storyline. -Where is the archer character? In conclusion this is the worst of the 3 Battleheart games by far. Gave 5 stars just to support the developer in hopes for a better game in the title.

I loved the previous battleheart games but this version has no storyline, new characters were very stale and it was full on grind. I was only able to grind so much until it got really boring. The grindy aspect would have been better if there was a larger customisable skill tree, or trinkets which you can combine, make new items or just something to not make the game so repetitive. Plus there was no archer. Saying this I wished there was a format like the first battleheart. In terms of storyline. I did enjoy this game during the first week but it got boring.

I was disappointed at first that there is no story like in the previous Battle Heart, but I guess technically this is the successor of the very first one which also had just the battles. And after playing for many hours I think I don’t even mind, I can always make up my own story as to why they fight 🙂

Improved art style from the already gorgeous original, and really brilliant controls and mechanics. But most importantly, it’s just so damned cute.

A really fun game with some weaknesses. The original Battleheart was, let’s face it, a grind-fest as you worked to level up all your characters and get the items required to face the Big Bad. This sequel is even more of a grind, without the trappings of story and the occasional unlocking of a new character. That said, the grinding IS fun, the art is great, and the tactics can be challenging enough to keep your interest at the higher levels.

Holy cow, this game is an utter tragedy. A beautifully robust, fun combat system, hamstrung by the complete lack of attention to multiplayer, storyline, or any social aspects at all. It’s a huge shame that this game didn’t sell better so the devs could’ve put a bit more effort into making it a more full product. As-is, it feels like a decent beta version of a game that was destined to be awesome.

I loved the original, this game ilhas for some reason taken good parts and changed them for no good reason. For example you have party xp not individual characters l, but you can only upgrade one ability per level.

A great sequel, but could be better. It’s way too much of a grind. A few changes could go a long way. First, make crystals and skills purchasable with gold. Gold becomes useless if you continue playing beyond the final boss. Second, create more enemy types and make the entire world scale to your level after fighting the last boss. Third, make characters retaliate to ranged attacks. Lastly, allow the player to press and hold an enemy to order all characters to focus fire on it.

I liked Battleheart Legacy. This one has no story, very basic character development (there’s just “party lvl”), and still difficult controls. I like the graphics, and I really appreciate no IAp’s in game.

First off, I want to give this a 5 star rating because I really want to support non pay to win and microtransaction games like this one. A rare find here and I really enjoy that. Otherwise my criticism would be to see cloud saves and a focus on character levels instead of party level in my opinion, the characters themselves would feel more special that way

  39. Jannis Arwin says:

Good graphics, skill branches showed potential. But leveling was too grindy. And gameplay required lots of micromanagement even on low difficulty, so zoning out during combat isn’t possible, making the grind feel even harsher.

I was a huuuuge fan of the first battleheart and was happy I could support the devs by buying the 2nd one. Unfortunately it feels extremely grindy. Although it is kind of the same as the first, in the previous entry you had clear stage progression and character level meant something as it was tied to character skills. In battleheart 2 all I do is grind 3 differrent currencies for a RNG item I might not even use. Progression is meaningless but the gameplay is great as always.

Battleheart 1 has been my favorite mobile game for years, and one of the few reasons I mobile game at all. Battleheart Legacy a close second. Battleheart 2 falls short for me though. Party level sort of fixes the problem of characters falling behind, but not really. Now the skill points take a long time to get. Why can’t I replay bosses? All the fights are very easy and a long grind. I rather enjoyed the difficulty from 1. Where are the arenas from 1? Pretty dissatisfied after wait.

  45. Eurlene Booker says:

Not nearly as expansive or as enjoyable as Battleheart 1. The characters don’t matchup, and some can hit max level after two rounds of combat, which is approx 10 minutes compared with the hours of enjoyable discovery of new powers and characters in the first game.

I absolutely love the game. The grind pays off, the battles are intense with every wave and very satisfying. I recently bought this and started playing co-op with my friend. However my concern is that during match ups he sometimes loads in late and causes a big to appear. This bug causes him to be unable to see enemies, or Target them. Since I’m doing support with cleric and Knight and he’s doing damage with pyro and rogue I can’t kill them. Please fix this I will 5* after. Thank you!

I enjoy the fantasy theme and character abilities. However the interface needs a smidge of polish just to fix the issue where if two characters are very close to each other, clicking on the one you intended to in a pinch (such as endless mode) is half likely to end in a miss-click and someone dying. This game is ruined for me because there is no account link of any kind that I’ve been able to find. You can spend 100s of hours grinding gear, if you take a break, you start from 0. Shaking my head

The battles and character progression are very satisfying, for one, because the heroes stats don’t scale up too fast like crazy. I don’t like the fact that you can choose an infinite number of missions until you decide to face the boss level. This freedom adds to boredom. Finally, there is no actual multi-player. The game could at least show a list of rooms for us to choose from. That’s disappointing. Still, one great game on the store

  53. Micha Teja says:

I don’t mind the game despite basically being just a series of endless grind battles. I do mind that there’s no auto attack, though. The absence of auto attack is why it’s 2 stars. I had more fun with Battleheart Legacy (there’s auto attack and targeting there)… well, before the very sudden and inexplicable spike of difficulty of the last boss battle.

It’s surprisingly really fun. I play this with a friend of mine and we have a blast. It’s a simple play style but can be more complex when it comes to upgrading skills and team combos. Would give it a 5 star if there was a bigger variety of loot and characters to choose from and if the legendary items were a different color so you could tell them apart.

  57. Nathalie From Rizo says:

So far it has pretty good gameplay and all, but why remove the tavern music though. Was such a good part of the first game, went fighting and then when it’s done you’re welcomed back by smooth tavern music. Now it’s just pumping epic music constantly. On another note, why change the character system? It’s so boring now that you have everyone unlocked, way more fun to feel like you’ve earned them. Literally a tavern before, you need to purchase heroes, just like in any other game or story.-.

I played the original and this is nothing like it. This game is awful. You have to grind to get experience. Or you can just have your heavy hit all the enemies and have them run around the field because no one can catch him. But that takes forever as well! This game is so dreadfully boring. The original was great. How did they mess it up so badly!

One of my favorite mobile games of all time. I read a lot of reviews complaining that the game was really grindy, but what they also fail to talk about is how the grind allows you to mold and develope your characters like a true RPG. Compared to Battleheart 1 I would say this game is a beautiful upgrade. Better graphics, character progression and faster paced combat. What more can you ask for?

  63. Tri Nguyen says:

I am somewhat disappointed. The only thing that I found nice compared to 1 is the decent talent system that is very rewarding. Other than that, I encountered many drawback. The most annoying one is the control. There is no portait, no tap to move (you have to actually draw a line for both, which is extremely inconvenient and prone to error because heroes stand SO CLOSE to one another). Battleheart 1 is like more than 10 years old, and to see no improvement for Battleheart 2 is a pain.

It’s nothing like the greatest of the first 2 games. It’s just a grind. The1st game was basically a teaching experience on how to manage a party. The I idea is the is idea is the tank pick up agro on all mobs. (Bat are unaffected by threat) tank hold mobs while dps burn them down. The healer keeps up the tank with a few spot heals. Ok this game put whatever melee in your party let them run around till everything is dead. They still have the treat mechanics. It’s just useless

Mika Mobile took their first battleheart game and expanded upon it with updated art and character progression system. Mechanically, they are the same game but what Battleheart 2 offers is a better mission map. As before, Battleheart 2 is completely offline and contains no ads or gacha elements. I really hope a third installment with better fleshed out progression, more enemy types, and maybe even a tactics system will be in the future. At this time I have about 18 hours in and I beat the end.

It’s a great game but it could really benefit from better enemy targeting. Far too many times I’ve tried to drag a character to the enemy and instead just walked near them. Tap to target or haptic feedback when line is positioned correctly over enemy would be nice. I have found that turning on the expanded battle UI helps though because at least that way when my characters do end up right by each other I can tap or drag from their portrait instead.

I have found that turning on the expanded battle UI helps though because at least that way when my characters do end up right by each other I can tap or drag from their portrait instead.

The gameplay is super enjoyable, especially the multi-player mode. The only problem is that there seemed to be a bug that most enemies dissappear during a multi-player battle. Its been almost half a decade and I still hope for this bug to be fixed. Nonetheless, thanks for the beautiful game!

Really enjoyed this game. If you beat the first Battleheart, definitely worth the purchase. Took me around 12 hours total to complete. Ran a party with the Bard, Dark Knight, Necromancer, and Fire Wizard. PROS: Plenty of replayability, to try out different mix of classes. More classes than original game New enemy types. New skill system Improved battle interface (found in the settings) Cons: A grindy game – good to play here and there My favorite character – the monk is gone 🙁

I don’t like what thus game does. It’s too easy, and the randomly generated levels take the forward progress out of the game. The original was so good in part because of its limited scope. Sure there’s infinite content in this game but it isn’t well crafted. The difficulty curve isn’t how you deal with flanking or new enemy types, it’s how big are your numbers.

First Battleheart is better for many reasons, especially since its free. Its nice how much more intuitive the controls are with even extra options for selecting units. Gear diversity and upgradability. Other than that, it gets too old too fast for being a paid game. Coulda done a lot more with it.
