Never played Earn to Die, but saw ETD2, had great reviews, and decided to give it a shot as a game for myself and my 5yr old to share. I’m rating this a 5 across the board, but truly, I’d give it a 4.5. NORMALLY, I’d round down (against basic math, I know,) BUT the positives are SO good, I’m rounding up on this one. Why? Simply, as a free game, it strikes a balance leaning favorably towards the player, showing respect for their time. Something I wish more devs understood. Respecting the player’s time inevitably leads to players offering up MORE of their time to the game. Ads aren’t NECESSARILY at a minimum, (I do wish they were cut back just a touch- every other attempt rather than seemingly after every attempt,) BUT the respect is in place, with ads able to be closed out after 5 seconds. FULL ads, on the other hand, ARE in place, but only should you choose- opting to watch one nets you a hefty haul of cash towards upgrading your car, you can watch several (perhaps as many as you’re willing- haven’t tested this because it’s so unnecessary,) in a row to get more cash, AND there’s frequent DOUBLE cash payouts that will appear. The best part is, those full ads truly feel optional. Money is given out in large sums after each attempt, and early on, enough that you’re upgrading with each bag o cash handed over. The payouts scale (both as attempt rewards and ad-viewing rewards,) but perhaps a touch less so from early goings. You may need two run attempts to purchase an upgrade as opposed to one. The only real negatives are: 1) The aforementioned plethora of ads, (again, offset by the rather quick dismissal/ close button). 2) THE WORST OFFENDER- Those double cash payout rewards. Not the fact that they’re there, of course. The alert timing is AWFUL. They never just “pop up” immediately upon returning to your garage. No. The alert happens AFTER you select and purchase your upgrade. For myself, at least, (especially when you only have the cash for one upgrade, as an example,) I buy my upgrade and then click to “exit” to get right back to playing. Because the alert first waits for you to make a purchase THEN ALSO HAS A BRIEF PAUSE EVEN AFTERWARDS, I’m already tapping “exit” as the alert briefly appears, too late for me to take advantage. If the double payout carried over to the next return to the garage, it wouldn’t matter, but it doesn’t, so you’ll have to wait until its next random appearance, which allows you to get right back in the habit of exiting back to the game quickly, possibly missing it yet again. PLEASE make the double payout alert appear immediately upon returning to the garage. 3) Lastly… As I mentioned, grabbed this for myself and my 5yr old to play. Kids love zombies and cars. The cartoon graphics are like a beacon for the young’uns. I’m aware the dev needs to make his cash, but perhaps more understanding of the audience it attracts, combined with more hands-on with the ads offering revenue will result in far fewer ads of scantily clad women dancing about. I’m far from a prude, but the sheer amount of times this ad pops up, combined with the cartoony nature that attracts the kids would be wise.

The basic premise is pretty fun though when you get to a new stage and unlock the next car it doesnt feel very rewarding to have your current build torn away and replaced with a wholly unupgraded version to build back up. The game also gets very repetetive when you are just trying to reach the end in your nearly maxed out car, usually just hoping the physics dont just snap your car in half. With this it looses appeal pretty quick but is pretty average.

Great game, was able to play the entire story mode and never once did they try and throw microtransactions in my face to get an edge. The option is there, but I beat the whole story mode and never spent a dime. you can watch ads to help and that was fine enough with me. Glad the company doesnt try to get you to throw your money at them. I will most definitely be playing more games by them

  4. Neftali Iuma says:

While a step in the right direction, this game stumbles in so many ways. The forced ads are so thick that you’re better off playing with no internet. The money curve is also pretty high, turning the game into a mindless grind that becomes horribly tedious by the later levels. When going to the next stage, you can’t use the previous vehicle to play, you have to use that stage’s vehicle, not cool. Needing access to my personal info just to get achievements is also a big no for me.

  5. Gates Melton says:

This is such a good game! The gameplay, the graphics, even the music just makes me want to get a car (any car 😉) and run over some zombies! The ads are very few and very short, and i love a game with very few (and short) ads. I cannot stop playing, it is so cool. most games on my phone, i just play them once and go back to watching funny cat videos on youtube, but this one is different, I just can’t stop playing it because it is so good! Thank you so much for makeing this game 👍👍👍

  6. Kalyn Deliza says:

Game is fun and the levels can be challenging, playing through gets you to challenge missions that require you to learn the level as you go, but the game is riddled with ads. Eventually you will watch ads between ads just to get the cash instead of driving, until your car is good enough to just finish the level. At least the after-level ads can get skipped.

  7. Nikky Anyssa says:

I really enjoyed this game when I started. Smooth app, pretty addictive, and overall pretty fun. But about the time in story mode where you drive the fire truck, it started stopping randomly… watching a video, Crash. Driving a car through some zombies, Crash. Trying to prevent the app from crashing by being as slow as possible, you guessed it…CRASH. I really enjoyed the game but i almost cant play it anymore.

  8. Jerrell Ena says:

It is a great game but there are a few problems that kinda set it back for me. The first is the Cloud Saves, or rather, lack there of. I think the most recent update (which is over 2 years old at this point) kinda broke the Cloud Saving feature and thus I had to start over from scratch. It didn’t take too long thankfully, but it was still a chore to do all that again. The other problem is the ads. They always play every 2 in-game days and it gets annoying after awhile. It’s pretty good otherwise

  9. Caril Fisk says:

The story was good and the missions gave a good challenge but on the exploration mode, some of the survival kits are ridiculously hard to get, specifically one on level 3-3 (about 3/4 into the level) that I still haven’t gotten. If anyone could help me with this, it’d be greatly appreciated.

  10. Bettye Vonn says:

This has to be the most replayable game i’ve installed (& reinstalled). i played 1 & 2 in highschool 8 years ago and still occasionally play. The controls are accurate. Each time you go back in you can go through a different route, and can always improve your distance, with good strategy. This game always keeps me entertained and i would rate 6 stars if possible. And if i could beg the devs to make a third, i’d do it 100 times. Highly recommend!

  11. Stanberry Dereck says:

Good graphics, controls, and physics. Game progression is very repetitive, all upgrades are exactly the same for every car. The car’s look is the only thing that changes. They all feel the same. Adds are a little agressive and skeevy. Like double exit screens, Auto-opening google play, hidden X to close ads. One ad even tried to trick you to think its a system message. Just Meh.

  12. Caspian Clinton says:

The gameplay is fun for a bit but the game is really repetitive. Once you beat the first level your car gets “upgraded”, which really means all your progress is reset. The cars are never any better than the last. The upgrades are the same for each car too. The developer really should have at least added some unique traits/upgrades to the different cars to vary the gameplay a little.

  13. Iliria Mable says:

Too many ads. After every other in game day you get an ad, which is about an ad every 1-3 minutes. The game is also using a lot of data (200 mb in a week) for a single player game, so that’s concerning as well. It is also incompatible with other apps. For example I was running Spotify while playing the game and it crashed Spotify. Any loading screen it has pauses your music and any other function. I like the game itself, but all of its problems ruin the fun for me.

  14. Shalonda Elvena says:

Great fun and addicting game up until the final level. Its so repetitive and monotonous and just a horrible level you have to go two or three times just to upgrade one thing which becomes such annoying task not to mention the fact that there’s a huge hole right before the second gas station preventing you from getting to it in most situations. Overall good game the last level sucks though and i recommend deleting it after the fire truck.

  15. James Manning says:

Its fun to play and i like the game, but the parts are so expensive once you get farther in the game that it makes it not as much fun because you want to upgrade but have to drive the same disrance 4 or 5 times to get one upgrade and it gets boring. Also having a gun mounted to the top of the vehicle is great but only has enough ammo for about 10-15 seconds and then its useless and weighs you down and sometimes gets in the way.

  16. william scerini says:

this is a neat game with great graphics. the only issue I’ve found is the commercial x(exits) are way too small and work poorly. unless that is the whole point so it causes a false click of the add. very frustrating having to try and click it as many as a dozen times plus the exits of false clicks. on the plus side watch tons of adds to pay for upgrades and as many in a row as one likes. I’d watch them all day if I didn’t get frustrated by the x(exits) issue! that issues makes me quit playing!

  17. Adam Larrabee says:

loads of fun! Game isnt so easy or dull that I delefed it after one day, but also not too difficult that it gets frustrating. The action and graphics are fun and exciting. Like all free games, there are commercials after each course, but the courses are long enough that you dont feel like you spend more time on ads than you do on the actual game. two thumbs up!

  18. Rich Hannaford says:

Absolutely fabulous! Would definitely recommend to friends! I love the beauty and simplicity of the game. Start to finish on story mode was like 8 hours , i felt good like i had beat the game , and then all the post game content was unlocked. I wish more mobile games would follow the progression of this game. The game was smooth , not glitchy , fast paced , great graphics , hours and hours of fun challenges. Thank you for a SOLID 5* game ❤️

  19. William Hepworth says:

Overall a good and fun addition to the ETD series, but with a few small hitches. Sometimes, especially with later vehicles, there will be a section of the level that is difficult to get past, and getting upgrades to help you get past can turn into a grind, more so when it’s towards the midway point of a level. Also, the money earning system doesn’t fully make sense towards the end.

  20. Mark Burress says:

I thought this game was really good at first, got to the 3rd level and was going well. Then I came back to it after a few hours of sleep and it started me all over again, wasn’t keeping my saved data. Played it again and signed in again and it looked like it saved my data the 2nd time around and again it did not. Plus on the 3rd level the vehicle isn’t strong enough to power through all he damn boxes they put in it. If you’re impatient pay for money, but you don’t have to.

  21. Dave Steckler says:

Decent enough standard driving-kill-the-zombies game, some entertaining stuff, explosions, physics are fun – but a number of flaws. Biggest flaws are: 1. can’t buy your way out of ads. I don’t mind giving devs a few dollars to not see ads every couple minutes but that’s not an option. So I get interrupted to watch ads. Annoying. 2. forced to “upgrade” to a better (more expensive) car every level, which is actually a worse (less fun) car until it too is upgraded. Annoying. Uninstalling.

  22. Pathrodox says:

I enjoyed playing this game, but there were some annoyances. Things like gas running out while you aren’t pressing the button or taking 10+ seconds for the lever to end when you run out of fuel because you’re rolling backwards down a hill, etc. There were also ads after every one or two tries, and they were really repetitive. Overall fun, but there’s still a lot of kinks to work out.

  23. Richard Billings says:

Overall, it’s a pretty good mobile game. The only reason personally to give it a 4/5 star rating is because I feel like I get stuck too much in situations where a reverse button would be useful. Small gaps, areas where you missed a ramp but can’t back up to get to it, and so forth. Other than that, it’s a great game. I hope they make a 3rd one with even more and crazier vehicles and mods. 😀 Oh, and a reverse button if possible.

  24. Gary Jacelon says:

It’s a fun game don’t get me wrong. But it gets repetitive real quick. There’s no cohesive scoring system, you have this “awesome” thing that’s just random and sometimes intrusive, and inconsistent. It seems pointless also, because you get no extra points, no refill on fuel, no boost of any kind. The zombies might as well be any other kind of obstacle, as they serve no real purpose other than just being in the way.

  25. Nova Bertsch says:

So, let’s get the basics out of the way, I’m highly biased towards this game as it’s an absolute nostalgia trip for me. However, I’ve noticed quite a few little details that actually made me rate. Something that either wasn’t present in the original Earn to die games on notdoppler, or that I was too young ro notice at the time is that the armor falls off the cars when too much damage is taken, and that the cars deform when hitting stuff. That little detail likely requires a lot of effort.

  26. Everett Rego says:

“Slide 200 feet upside down” Level 8, missions mode. FIX IT!!!!!! Say I slide 64 feet upside down and then i cant go any further so I flip my car. Then, the next time I have to slide, I will have to slide 64 feet again before it starts counting the feet. Fix it so everytime you go upside down, it starts counting again. PLEASE!!!!!!!! I will give 5 stars for now because the game is great, but you have to fix this.

  27. v x says:

The game is a pretty good game. I have recently played the flash version of this game, and it feels like a demo compared to this version. The only problem that the game has is that it’s a bit repetitive but it gets a pass for actually having gameplay. It has a sensible system for in app purchases and ads so it gets extra points from me. I definitely recommend this game.

  28. Concealed Hades says:

Games sorta fun. It gets a bit boring. After every 3 stopping points, you get a new car. Can’t use the previous one so you’re stuck with a slow, unupgraded car yet again. It’s pretty much rinse and repeat. If you don’t feel like playing, you get much more money watching adds than you would actually playing so if you want to get through the boring parts, do that.

  29. Thekids Anthony says:

Not a five, but still enjoy playing a really fun game. The graphics are cool, the cars are cool, and in all the game is cool. My only down fall is that when upgrading your car ( which you can do) doesen’t get very much money for driving it around. I spend most of my time playing watching ads for money. But then again nothing else really is bad about the game. Enjoy!

  30. Lawrence says:

Overall it doesn’t much matter what you do – just rest your thumb on the acceleration and get almost the same result. A spectacular jump is meaningless – all roads are basically the same. This could’ve been one of the best ever, but… Last three levels are annoying. Fire truck level is just tedious. Not challenging, tedious. Can’t switch vehicles – just says the earlier car has been replaced with a “better” one. No pickups! It’s a driving game – how did they forget that?

  31. Jacob Hires says:

It was a good game to kill a couple hours on a plane. However I found myself unable to beat the final stage of the first level with a fully upgraded starter car. Meaning I could not unlock the next car nor progress forward any further. I am sure it is possible, but not worth the effort for what essentially equals a flash game converted to mobile.

  32. Jayden Maxwell says:

I love the game its very fun and I recomend downloading, but I wish you could use old cars. And one big thing, in the first one when you get on the plane, while its taking off it shows a zombie in the window, and in second game it has nothing to do with it, why? That disapointed me a little bit, but other than that its an awsome game and much more challenging than the first one which I like.

  33. A J says:

This game is awesome. I just beat it at just under 500 days. I like that the game is beatable without having to pay for things. I watched a ton of ads though for extra money. The amount of forced ads to playing is amazingly balanced. The only thing I do not like is that every cars strength and power is the same. I think that when the cars get bigger and more powerful the obstacles should become bigger and stronger. My tiny starter car should not blast through the same as the giant dump truck.

  34. Nuxter HorizonWolf says:

Reviewing from a perspective of someone doesnt play many mobile games. The game is a great deal of fun, the physics just never get boring. It’s a bit of a bummer that you can’t use previously upgraded cars when you unlock a new one, although I can understand why it’s designed this way. The ads are there but aren’t excessively annoying; some are too long though and they break the flow of the game, I dont want to sit through a 30 second ad after a run that lasted little over 40 seconds.

  35. Zachary Snell says:

Ok so I’m not sure what’s happening, but the ads seem to increase as I progress. An ad would pop up after 3-4 runs, no biggie. But now it’s after every run, and these ads have 3 screens to close most of the time. It’s nuts, and the game is SO good. I played through it years ago before this insane ad culture whatever appeared. Such a bummer…

  36. Olasanoye Olamilekan says:

It’s a good game. You fall from one way or you go very high, you land to another way. It’s not like other games when you miss the way you starting looking for it. Once you fully upgraded the equipments you finish the match there is nothing like struggling again to win l love it. I finished the levels in just three days. Next one you do please put a multiple player

  37. Elwyn Chow says:

Very repetitive. You keep grinding and upgrading and repeating the same level until you succeed. Although there is a new vehicle for each leg of the journey, you are forced to use a new stock vehicle at the start of each leg. All the vehicles can be upgraded in the same features as the others. It’s particularly lazy and disappointing that vehicles don’t have unique features eg the fire truck could have had its fire hose attack zombies running behind the truck.

  38. Peter Mitchell says:

I just installed this game today and I’m already hooked. I love the cartoon effects and all the explosions and blood. The vehicle physics is great and realistic 😃. Thanks for this great game. Also I have seen a lot of complaints about ads but there aren’t that many and if you turn off WiFi there are none at all which is perfect. A lot of games I just play to pass the time but I have purposefully sat down to play this game. Thanks so much. Would definitely recommend. No issues at all. 5/5 👍😆

  39. Baibhav Palit says:

This game is actually pretty fun to play and a great time killer..!! But i just want the developers to add some changes in the game…firstly add a brake, because sometimes the car catches huge speed and slams some wall and the shields come off and secondly the guns are not that usefull because at last we kill the zombies by the car only, so instead of a gun upgrade add a brake upgrade and if you can please reduce the costs a bit so that the upgrades are a BIT FASTER.. Thanks ! 🙂

  40. Mambe says:

They nailed everything about this game! The art is great, the physics feels weighty, the gameplay and gameplay loop is simple but really fun and stays fresh, the ads aren’t invasive, the progression is perfectly done, the levels are fun to play through, you can play in short or long playsessions and have it be just as fun, its really fun to see your car upgrade and most importantly – it feels awesome to crash through the environment and zombies and speed through the levels! Would 110% reccomend!
