    Impressive that an app that so many other companies do so well could become the most frustrating thing on my phone. Impossible to use, constant crashing, ridiculous amount of ads, and if you’re lucky enough to get the video you want to actually play, don’t settle in because it’ll crash. You’ll waste time trying to get the app working again, only to spend even more time trying to get back to the part of your show you were at… after watching the ads all over again. Worst app I’ve ever downloaded.

    This app is a mess. The worst TV watching app I’ve used. It’s always freezing or shutting down. The ‘continue watching’ section is inaccurate so it takes forever to find where you left off. The commercials are always the same which is maddening, so now I just mute them until the show is back on. It’s a very frustrating app to use. Hopefully they improve it soon.

    First: Waited way to long for Dish to be added to the list of providers. Second: There are way to many adds. it truly takes away from the viewing experience of the app. Finally, Third: Now the app won’t open at all. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times over the course of a month, and it still won’t open. I wont waste anymore time with this app. It and the Animal Planet Go app will both be deleted, because it is the same way.

    I understand that you have to make money with ads. There are only a few ads episode. I think you should use some of that money to make the app that displays those ads work correctly. Every time I put the app in the background and open it back up it says that it loses internet but it continues playing the audio to a black screen. It locks my whole phone up. If I get a call it does the same thing. App is reasonably user friendly. I’m sure your developers already know all of this. Let them fix it.

    Logged in with my Cable account and was able to unlock the programs I wanted to watch. But I hate how they make you watch 1.5 minutes of ads still. And my internet connection is not stable so the app will flip out and crash if the internet drops. And there is no manual quality select for the videos, so i’m bound by the speed of my connection to set the quality of the video.

    Terrible user experience. Freezes a lot and never remembers your progress so “continue watching” feature is useless. When you try to get to a different spot in an episode you have to just guess and hope you’ve found the right spot and then sit through 5 minutes of commercials before you can even see if you’re in the spot you want. When the app is actually working, SO MANY COMMERCIALS!

    Terrible app. Expected way more from a major network! Doesn’t even keep up with last episode watched correctly. Also, you have to use exact search words to find what you are looking for. Sorry Discovery, you could do much better to keep up with others! In addition, way too many commercials! Come on? I had to sit through 10 commercials sometimes while watching Edge of Alaska!

    The quality of the shows are awesome but the app crashes at least once or twice a day for me, and there are usually 5 ads ranging from 2-3 minutes long. Other than those 2 things I get to watch my shows and partially get annoyed from ads and crashing but at least I get the choice to watch the shows I like.

    It’s the most bizarre thing. The advertisements I am watching keep getting interrupted by a TV show. Terrible app. Way too many ads. The same ad will often be repeated multiple times in a single ad break. On my phone I have to double tap the screen every time an ad break is over in order to get the buttons on the top of the screen to disappear. And on my Fire Stick I have to sign back in every time I try to watch something. 500 character limit restricts me from explaining things in more detail.

    Won’t take me to provider login page, so we can’t watch anything. It just freezes and stops once I choose my provider DirecTV Now, does nothing, WIFI no WIFI all connection methods to the internet tried. It just stops, no error code just does nothing. It will go to HULU., but not DirecTV Now. The app developers told me to try clearing the cache and and data, then reinstalling which I did, but it didn’t help. By the way, it took me a long time to find out how to do that, would have been nice if they sent instructions. So I sent that info to them again and will just get the same email saying they are working on it and in the meanwhile, can’t watch their channel. I was on vacation for a week and couldn’t watch at all. So it still sux! Too bad you can’t make an account on a device that will allow the provider login. like ROKU or laptop, then login through your app with the login name, but that option is not available.

    Terrible for casting shows unless you never need to pause. It doesn’t remember where you left off, makes you rewatch all the commercials when you try to forward to where you left off, and then half the time it stops working and makes you do this process all over again. Useless.

    1 minute of video and 1 minute of repetitive ads–on and on and on. This is ridiculous! You can’t resume the 1 minute of video if you get interrupted. You have to start over. This is the worst streaming experience I’ve ever had. PROBLEM FIXED: Removed app and got a Netflix subscription. No ads, smooth play, no problems. If it’s not smooth playing, I’m not wasting my time.

    The app itself is nice, and works fine, but the amount of commercials is OUTRAGEOUS at best. There’s breaks every five minutes it feels like, and I’m getting up to 8 commercials every time. (Up to three MINUTES of commercial.) As a paying cable customer I would expect there to be fewer commercials, at least on older episodes, on a TV channel app. If it’s Discovery behind the app I am severly disappointed in them, both in the number, and the lack of variety, in their commercials. Do better.

    I would recommend this app to any individual who is interested in getting to know mother nature a little better. The show’s are phenomenal and casting is great. It is a portable application for direct connection to all your shows broadcasted on this television network. If you like to watch TV on the go, this is an application that will suit you well. It allows you to cycle through all the shows quickly with the hasteness of a single touch. An app that is well designed to perfection and easy use.

    Ridiculous amount of ads. Every time you touch the timeline you’re forced to sit through numerous ads. Good luck trying to pick up where you left off. Just trash! Update: my review never mentioned anything about removing ads. Your response is generic and completely dismissive. The issue is every time we touch the timeline you force us to watch multiple ads. If I want to fast forward I get 160 seconds of ads. If I jumped to far forward, want to go back, then I have to watch 160 seconds of ads.

    It’s great to be able to watch shows on Discovery channel with this app. I am a Discovery channel addict. I just wish you could navigate through the show a little easier. Sometimes I want to rewind to see something I missed, but this app makes you jump to certain areas of the show, and you have to rewatch long portions to get back where you were. Also, it seems sometimes the ads appear too frequently. If this were fixed, definitely worth 5 stars.

    It is very stable on my Google pixel 3a XL. AND on my LG-G6. It works 100% better than my TV provider’s app (Spectrum). The navigation is better, the show listings “On Demand” are much better, and it doesn’t keep stopping and “spooling”, or dropping completely out, like the provider’s app does. Now I can watch my favorite channel without all the hassle!

    I really love discovery channel, but I am having problems with the app. It constantly says it can’t connect to the internet after a few minutes of watching a show. Now before you say it, if I’m watching live t.v. on it, it will reload, on a show kicks me off. I can watch other app and not have this problem, it’s only yours. I really like it but I’m about to delete it all together

    This app is great…when it runs smoothly. Half the time when I’m trying to watch shows, the interface is so sloooow. I believe they need to start working on faster load times. Its auto play is awesome for watching of the phone or using smart view, but when using chromecast, you have to manually play next episode. And the ads is super annoying…if you have a DISH or DIRECTV account, their shouldn’t be adds. Discovery, you make enough money, stop the ads for those who have a tv service.

    This app is awesome it’s not that bad at all runs good, layouts pretty decent just got a couple suggestions we need a crop 2 fit button so the video fits your phone size all the way, I’m using the Note 10 plus. And it doesn’t fill up the whole screen. And I would really like a quality button so we can pick high resolution or low resolution. I live out in the middle of nowhere my Wi-Fi is not fast so I would like to be able to turn up the quality even if I have to pause the video an wait a minute

    It works and I can cast to my Android TV box. However, even though there are native apps for Android phones and tablets, there are NO native apps for any of Discovery Communications’ other networks for Android TV. There is a Food Network GO app that is available for download and I have it installed on my Android TV box but it does not work. The error I keep receiving is “request failed.” If you don’t mind casting, like in the year 2013, this app and all of the other Discovery Communications’ apps is perfect. However, I do mind, and it’s almost 2020. So, to be fair, this app is “Just OK.” Edit: 1 Star for lack of support for Android TV.

    I love being able to access my shows through the app, being able to send them to my Chromecast is awesome. But for some reason only certain episodes of any show will appear each time I look at a season. It’s different every time, 3 or 4 episodes don’t show. If I leave the app and come back, some will be there, others will now be gone. It’s very frustrating when all I want to do is watch the next episode but it takes 20 minutes to get it to show on the list. Edit: Response was not helpful.

    TERRIBLE! If I could give it negative stars I would. 30 seconds after watching 7 commercials I had to sit through another 7 commercials. It shouldn’t take 2 hours to watch a 45 minute video. Their website is exactly the same which is why I downloaded this atrocity in the first place. And If you rewind, it automatically makes you suffer through more commercials. I can not stress enough how much of a waste of time this adds up to in the end, nor will I waste mine either. No thank you. TV is better

    This app is super clunky and full of bugs. Constantly doesn’t save where I left off on shows which has probably wasted hours of my time just skipping through episodes, which you can’t even do without the app glitching out, not playing videos, crashing, etc. Weird keyboard glitches when you type stuff into the search bar. Not able to go to show’s main page from anywhere but the search bar. Continue watching section goes blank randomly. The list goes on it’s just ridiculous.

    No rewind or forward control 😬 I don’t understand why there aren’t rewind or forward controls (like 10 seconds back and forward). There are many times when I’d rather not even use the app because I know there’s likely to be a point when I want to rewind, and will have to sit through like 10 minutes of already watched content because it’s darn near impossible to go back a specific amount of time when forced to use your fingertip on the time bar.

    It’s not very user friendly. Plus you have to have a cable provider to watch certain shows. It would be easier to have continuous play from one episode to the next instead of having to open the app and choose the next episode every single time. You tell me there is an auto play feature…where is that located? I went through EVERY thing and just can’t find one.

    Worst user experience ever. Loses progress, so the “continue watching” section of the app is worthless, and instead only shows things that I have actually finished (which there is no way to clear). I have to keep track on my own, and navigate all the way to the episode I was in the middle of, and then watch tons of ads to get back to where I was. Also only shows episode numbers, not titles, making it even harder to find. These and plenty of other issues too long to list make this app suck.

    This app is terrible. It is poor at both trying to watch on your phone and trying to cast. You can’t properly save where you are in a show or which show you are on. You can’t fast forward or rewind in casting or it jumps backward about 10 min and you cant go forward. The commercials are frequent and long. I HATE this app.

    Installation is easy through Playstore and that’s the only easy thing. Searching for a show is near impossible, random letters are added/removed from what you type in (f.e. my search for Deadliest Catch resulted in looking like deadddlllist catch with no results being found). The “continue watching” feature does not work most of the time. Instead of bringing you back to where you interrupted your program, the list is either blank or lists shows that have you finished watching. There is no way to remove already watched shows from this list. The app also frequently shuts down all by itself in the middle of a program. That happens across multiple devices and clearly at random. There also is no way to watch shows from the website and use the app as an add-on. Overall this app’s performance is so poor that I ended up uninstalling it. Clearly nobody has figured out that this is the 21st Century and most people live their life on the go. With all the commercial interruptions on the app there should be enough money to develop something much better.

    I’ve used a lot of really crappy apps before, but this one has to be the worst. Continue watching never keeps up. Favorites sometimes has 6 shows, sometimes 2, never the same show I was watching before I had to reboot the app, and I have to reboot it way too often. Next Episode sometimes works on its own while casting, usually doesnt unless you are in the app when the show has 1 minute left. Now, it refuses to even show me the season list for the show I was watching 3 hours ago. What a mess!

    This app never works right whether it’s on my TV or phone. Which is unfortunate because it’s my favorite channel. The player is just simply a mess. Rarely shows my progress through episodes for the next time I want to continue watching along with a slew of other issues. This app wastes more of my time instead of allowing me to enjoy what little free time I have in a day.

    They have not been able to fix the sign in issue with tv provider in over 2 months now! I’d give no stars if I could! They will be loosing a lot of viewers if they haven’t already! And if an admin reply to this… yes I’ve tried uninstalling and re-installing and tried it on two androids and clearing cache!! It’s an issue on your end with not letting us input our cable provider sign in info! It doesn’t navigate to the sign in page at all!!

    I have used this app for the past 5 years with no problem. Now all of a sudden it does not work. I’ve cleared caches I’ve reinstalled the app in the same thing happens. It asked you to link your account. I go to link my account and it skips the sign in page and says your login. You go to the app and everything is still locked. There is zero customer service

    If I could give this app 0 stars after the last update I would! The app will not connect to my Chromecast and gives me an error message and says try back later. I submitted a request just like they said and all they told me to do was reset my Chromecast which isn’t the problem. Whoever is responsible for this update needs to be fired! When you go through the comments you see that everybody is having the same problem. Yet nothing has been done about this for weeks. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER RELATIONS!

    App used to work well. Now it’s really bad. Can’t change captioning. Can’t find my shows easily anymore and quality is terrible. Edit: My elderly parents can’t watch their favorite shows because of the caption problem. The other day I wanted to rewind a little to see a part I missed and it restarted the whole program. We just stopped watching. I tried going to the link from Discovery’s response but none of the troubleshooting helped and neither did contacting them.

    DON’T SWITCH SCREENS!! I don’t have the option of watching it continuously sso I have to go back-and-forth between screens. Every single time I switch screens and go back to my show, I have to watch 3 minutes worth of ads. I pay for DirecTV so I shouldn’t have to watch that many commercials. I downloaded this app today…. and it’s going away already. I’ll just record the show at home!

    This app is absolutely pointless. It has you link your TV network provider and tells me I’m all set, but when I try to watch a show it has another notification saying “Unable to Connect, please check your network connections and try again” which I’ve done repeatedly on my android device! I shouldn’t have any issues trying to watch anything because I’M CONNECTED TO WIFI! Tried going on the web browser version as well but it tells me the same thing! This issue really needs to be resolved ASAP! 😠

    App is OK their to many commercials like I’m tired of seeing the same ones over and over and some of them twice in the role it stupid. Some times the app forgets where I left off and I’m searching for my spot I left off at. When I do that I have to watch more commercials. Don’t waste your time on this app unless you want to watch more commercials then show. I started off with this app with only 1:30 of commercials now its almost up to 3 minutes of commercials.

    The most egregious amount of ads. Surpassed by pretty much none… I’m used to commercials because we pay for a cable package; however this goes a step further. 3 minute unskippable ads; I wanted to get back to watching old Mythbusters & I was in awe when I realized I got a 3 min ad for less than that of content when it continued.. In other words, 2 mins of content played and then 3min of ads? Lol – multiple btw. So a “43min episode” is essentially ~14mins of pure ads. You can’t even mute them.

    Complete garbage! It often gets hung up on ads and when that happens it’s nearly impossible to get back to where it cut out. Every time I try to get back to the spot it cut out it makes me listen to 3 more GD minutes of ads before hanging again and forcing me to watch more ads in the impossible hope that it will start working correctly or give up on the program. I’ve given up on MANY programs. Get your act together!!!! And NO, I don’t want to discuss it!
