Great so far! Really enjoying the gameplay and just about everything! A few things I’d like to see change: some buttons (like choosing the next stage) seem very small and it’s very hard to choose even on my large screen. I’d like it to be more obvious where we are on the map (highlighted). A mode where you can just keep going would be neat! These are all nitpicks though, I’m really loving it so far! Devs have been fixing issues already and seem receptive!

Very fun, challenging and addictive game. In the short week I’ve had it there have already been 2 updates, 1 to fix UI elements and another for bugs and balance changes. I really like this game and where it’s headed. My only gripe is some of the cards look very similar so I sometimes click one when I mean the other. Overall I like it, can’t wait to unlock everything.

A surprisingly fun game. It is similar to slay the spire in the way the game is structured but plays differently when you get into it. In all the game is a blast to play, with some strategic depth to it. The game makes money from ads, however I’ve not found them to be very distruptive to the games flow. In fact many of the ads are optional and the only real consiquence for skipping them is that the game is slightly more difficult. So it’s well done.

The game is very fun, can be very challenging. The only things I don’t like are 1) the card order is 100% set when you enter a battle. So if you exit and re-do a fight because you’ve made a mistake, it’ll be the same exact setup the next go. You can land in spots where you cannot get out of dying. 2) there are a couple bugs that will reset fights, kick you to the title screen, not allow you to use the “watch an ad for free coins” feature in the shop. Other than these it’s a solid game!

I have put hours into this game and am still coming back for more. I started off with the free version but really enjoyed the game and wanted to support the developers more and ended up buy the max level and no ads (not necessary to play). Even without the purchase, there are very few to no ads and this is not a pay to win game! The classes are unique and there are lots of cards to be able to develop different decks each time through. Highly recommend! Very fun!

Fun offline game. I’d recommend it! Pros: – Simple once you’ve learned the rules – Good variety with classes – Easy to pick up, play a couple minutes, and then put down Cons: – Frequently freezes when you start a battle. I press “End Turn” and nothing happens, so I have to close the app and open it again – Lots of grinding required to unlock new classes – Some effects are not well explained. I had to learn by trial and error.

Great game. Starts simple, but you unlock some really cool cards and abilities as you play more. There are some significant luck issues at time (though that’s almost inherent to the genre, so it’s not unique in that aspect), and I think some cards/strategies are just obviously better than others (especially as you’re still unlocking cards), but it still has a lot of good/interesting options. Overall, it’s engaging and fun to play, and given that it’s truly free-to-play, I can fully recommend it.

I think this game is a lot of fun, and the best rogue-lite card-combat game I’ve played. I’ve only noticed two issues: I can’t disable the music but keep the sound effects, and it crashes and locks up quite often. It locks or crashes at approximately 15 minutes intervals. The auto-save is great, though, so I continue the game and pick up in exactly the same state as where it crashed. I think if it didn’t crash, the content would be worth paying for the ad-free, future-updates version.

This game is great. Simple concept but still a lot of fun. So much so, I actually spent the $10 to support the devs. A few notes for the devs: 1. Can you increase the font size on the shield indicators? I have “not so great” vision and it can be hard to see. 2. Can you decrease the distance to drag and drop cards? Seems like a lot of real estate wasted when everything can just be scaled up for a tighter experience. 3. I’ll throw my vote in to bring back the automatic end turn.

Update: cloud issue fixed. I wish these reviews would show time played. In the free version the ad placement was fine and progression was fine the double XP wasn’t needed, and bought the $10 upgrade just to support the devs. But one thing I didn’t know is it would instantly unlock all the classes, it’s still very fun it just took away everything I was working toward, and now it doesn’t have much in sort of progression. I’m not sure what you could add. But I still love it, just don’t play as much

This is actually a very well made game. It’s all about figuring out the combinations that give you a little more of an edge, and leaving behind the cards that don’t. But your strategy has to change every game. It unfortunately crashes a lot right now. But the randomizer they use gives you the same cards and same enemy behavior, so you can redo what you did. I was real close to dropping a star, but just couldn’t bear rating this less than 5. You do have to watch ads, just fyi.

I love this game. It’s really fun, and it introduced me to a whole new genre of games. But what’s keeping me from rating it 5 stars is how often it glitches. The screen will start stuttering (for lack of a better word) white, before just becoming completely white. I’ll try and click something in the shop and it’ll freeze, before booting me back into the next level with 5 hp because I never had the chance to buy a health potion. It’s the little things.

So many classes and they are all very fun and different. There is a really great balance between currency reward and purchase price for the shop. This makes the game challenging but not super frustrating. I would LOVE to see the option to go back to a shop if I am still on that space. My finger has bumped the exit button on accident on so many occasions and sometimes it seems like I really missed a purchase I wanted to make.

Came back after a while. Feels as great as always. The only thing that would be nice would be a way to see the upgrades the upgradeable cards have quickly. At present, to see cards beyond those directly available to you, the player must leave the adventure, and use the main menu to gain the information they want. Another small thing I have a problem with are the skills which involve other cards. All these problems are nonexistent once a player gets more experienced or simply remembers them.

So! I wanted to leave 4 stars, but considering how much I’ve been enjoying the game, I can’t bring myself to do that. There are a couple suggestions I have. First, I’d love to see more deck options! It feels like only beastman and fairy are truly fleshed out completely. Secondly, I purchased no ads, but I still have to watch the ad for double xp at the end of the run. I understand that there’s a double xp purchase, but it’s certainly not clear that ‘no ads’ means ‘no ads except for double xp ads

It’s a great mix of card collecting/roguelike in the first place. But also, the developers keep adding to it! Any time I take a few month off, I come back to discover that there are new cards, classes, and other content. Difficulty ramps up, but you don’t get stuck at a high difficulty — you always have the option of dropping back down and enjoying playing whatever class you’ve chosen. All in all, a well-balanced game!

Wow. One of the few games where I am happy to buy the “no ads” option – and I still feel like I get my money’s worth with all the updates being done. Such a wonderful balance of challenge, fun, and variety. Each class can play uniquely. Only complaint – after long enough playing, certain cards are obviously worthless, and others are superb. This can lead to a “monotonous” game play pattern of aiming for the “best” cards, and forget trying other strategies.

Don’t judge this book by its cover – this game is incredible. Loads of depth and content to unlock, tons of progression…I love how many options there are in the dungeon shops. I will admit, the graphics and animations could be a lot more engaging. There is next to no feedback when you play cards or the enemy attacks, apart from a couple of small numbers on the screen changing. But it’s very satisfying intellectually. There’s loads of ads f2p but its worth $5 to have a completely ad-free game.

Not a bad experience, but needs work. The graphics aren’t visually consistent. There’s aliasing on the character portrait, while the background is smooth. Suffers from lack of feedback, eg when enemies hit you, there’s no sound effect or indication that you got hit. I didn’t see any intrusive ads though, so I’m giving four stars because they didn’t go that route. It’s important that a game experience doesn’t feel like you’re being brainwashed by ads. Good luck devs, I see potential.

It’s fun! The only weak points, imo, are: 1) you can’t read the full description of a card when you’re choosing it (it cuts off), and 2) it’s always the same map, albeit with different monsters and difficulty Other than that, it’s fun and the creators did a good job. Edit: they fixed it! You can now read the total effect… In most cases. Some cards are still ??? (what does a robo hound do, etc)

The game is absolutely amazing I love the setup where you unlock classes with more playthroughs and the amount of cards is stunning! EDIT: So after the update the crashing is a lot quicker. I can only play like 8-10 minutes before it occurs. Also if I disconnect from internet I have no issues, so still believe it has something to do with ads or data being sent too much.

An excellent roguelite deck building game. Set up perfectly for mobile (better than STS). Lots of variety in cards and skills. Almost zero ads, just for free coins/chests, and there’s no paywall whatsoever. If you’re looking for a great mobile experience that will keep you busy for a long time, look no further. I honestly prefer this to the mobile version of slay the spire.

  45. Dan Raino says:

It has strong Slay the Spire energy, but is also very clearly its own game. The balance works very well, for the most part, and by the time you really start feeling the pressure of different difficulties, you’ll be far enough in that it feels like challenge modes more than anything else. So few games feel so complete without a pricetag. Yes, there are adds, but the adds are consistent and predictable without being constant, more like a loading screen.

  47. Bradley Fite says:

Fun experience. If you want to get the most out of it, don’t use play pass to unlock all the classes. It kinda takes the replay value away because you then have nothing to work towards. Simple controls and design, and can be played offline. Very fun time killer if you don’t neuter yourself by unlocking everything first.

  49. Fig Newton (Forever In Game) says:

A very fun game, but poor optimization makes it slow down to unplayable levels very quickly. Can’t play for more than 5 or so minutes without the game running like a powerpoint presentation. Additionally, the fade to white effect between scenes is incredibly hard on the eyes, especially when it stays on screen for up to 30 seconds due to the aforementioned slowdown.

I love the game, I really do. It’s fun trying different things and playing the different classes. The only problem is it awfully slow, or just stops. I’m become increasingly worse as time goes on. After a couple of battles or “rooms” ( chests, shops ) I have to restart the game which takes time cause It makes my phone slow. Please fix, it’s the only issue I can think of that’s really plaguing the game.

Great game! Addictive, challenging, fun and repayable. So many avenues it could be expanded on as well, like game modes and the social side of things (tournaments/ranking is a great first start). I’d say the UI (UX) could use little dashes of love here and there Iike the attack animations for enemies and players and system warning messages (light speed noti bar at the bottom) but all in all it’s well done. Every bit worthy of 5 stars and I look forward to seeing more updates as they release.

I love this game. Ive had it for years and paid for it too. Never had problems until today. I resumed a classic hunter run and it crashed. Every time i tried to restart the app and the run… Crash. I cleared my cache and such and now Im back at level 1. I even tried the cloud save but apparently thats level 1 too now. Im so upset. If it stays like this im uninstalling. Years of unlocks just gone?… Not good..

It’s a fun, semi-casual game that requires strategy and pre planning, as well as adaptation to the different classes strengths and weaknesses. And advertising isn’t excessively egregious, since battle turns can take a fair amount of time, separating the ads more than in most games.

When I first saw this game it left a so-so impression on me. I thought it was one of those lame retro wannabe games. However I am so wrong. This game is so good. The graphics might be simple but the game play and the strategy building more than makes up for it. I like games that forces me to think while making it fun for me. This is one of those. I can also pick it up and pause whenever I want. There are barely any ads. It’s great

The graphics might be simple but the game play and the strategy building more than makes up for it. I like games that forces me to think while making it fun for me. This is one of those. I can also pick it up and pause whenever I want. There are barely any ads. It’s great

A great game. Lots of different possible strategies. The latest update broke something with the tournament. For some reason I cannot select a the final rare card. I have purchased the add free in app purchase and maybe that has something to do with it but after selecting that I want to watch an add for an extra card I just get a blank screen with no cards and I cannot start the tournament.

Can’t give 5 stars. Ads are unreliable in a game where to reach and survive higher difficulties, you MUST watch an ad to unlock every possible reward. The ads themselves are not annoying to me. The fact that at random, yet increasing frequency, ads fail to load or unlock the promised rewards is what annoys me. I’m missing out on rewards not because I chose to skip them, but that the app thinks my connection is bad. Seems like a great way to convince players to pay for the no ads option.

It’s a good game for when I’m offline, which happens to me often. My only issue is that one of the enemies seems unbeatable. It’s Gyozu the Fisheater, in the deep water region. Each turn, he puts three red fish cards in my deck and whenever I play them, it heals him. I feel that if I didn’t have so many of them, I wouldn’t at least halved his HP. I feel that whenever I encounter him, it’s more of a death certificate than a fight and that’s not fun. Fix please?

Basically Slay the Spire mobile. There are plenty of differences, but if you like one you’ll like the other. Ads seem to be completely optional. I finished a run on the 3rd try without watching any. Update: I paid for this app now, and it’s well worth the money. 2nd Update: bad bug was fixed, back to 5 stars. I’ve beaten it on Inferno 10 with 11 of 12 classes now. Super replayable.

Great game, for a rouge like collectible card rpg it’s great with the crazy combinations you can assemble to change the game. My one and only complaint is its kinda hard and the games long and you have to win over and over and over to make a tiny bit of progress towards new classes and abilities. Worth it just maybe a bit to much.

great game, fun and challenging. can not wrap my head around how to beat the game with the wizzard class but ran through the other ones. the card synergy is fun and there’s lots of builds available. EDIT: This latest update changed the way the ads work, now occasionally I will get 2-3 ads playing and it might not give me the chest at the end. and now all the ads are 30 second unskippable which is a bummer I paid for this game but am still getting ads.

Great game, awesome builds. Pretty easy to never play the same game twice, but also extremely easy to make similar/relevant builds if you prefer a certain, steady play style. Easy to pick up and put down, and pick back up again. If you like Rouge-like, download it. It won’t just be another app taking up space on your phone.

Can be played with no internet! I was looking for something to play on the plane for a long flight and was pleasantly surprised with this game! It’s an arcade style deck builder. You don’t save your decks, rather you build them as you go through the levels. It takes a lot of strategy and thinking ahead, and can be very punishing if you don’t get good RNG. Highly recommended. I’m still playing the game long after my flights. Enjoy!

I really do love this game. It is very challenging specially when you get to the end, but if you strategize correctly you can destroy the last bosses. I love that there are so many classes, and I think the speed of leveling up is alright. Using different classes favor different races of cards which is cool. Also I love roguelike and card deckbuilders games and this is the first time I played both at the same time.

This is my favorite game on my phone. Came back after a year hiatus that had nothing to do with the game. Lots of improvement on an already great thing. Really enjoy it the card depth, synergy potentials, and depth of the campaign. I haven’t had enough time to really comment on the tournament system, but it’s a solid system, and I’m looking forward to the next cycle.
